Themed “Building Tanzania’s Startup Economy,” Tanzania Startup Week 2026 kicked off today – October 19, 2026 – bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, financial institutions and development partners to strengthen the country’s startup ecosystem, mobilise investment and accelerate innovation-led economic growth. Vice-President Deogratius Ndejembi graced its opening at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC), Dar es Salaam. NMB Bank, the event’s main sponsor, announced a TSh2 billion allocation to support technology startups, with Vice-President Ndejembi challenging other financial institutions to follow suit and demonstrate tangible results from their support for emerging businesses.
