Tanzania’s efforts to unlock greater flows of impact capital into high-potential enterprises will take centre stage tomorrow as the Tanzania Impact Investment Forum (TIIF) 2026 opens at Johari Rotana Hotel in Dar es Salaam.
The forum runs from June 1 to June 3, with the final day dedicated to field visits aimed at providing participants with first-hand exposure to impactful enterprises and investment opportunities across the country.
The high profile forum, organised by the Embassy of Switzerland in Tanzania, is expected to bring together investors, entrepreneurs, development finance institutions, policymakers and ecosystem enablers under the theme: “Unlocking Growth Capital: Investing in High-Impact SMEs and Transformational Projects.”
The gathering comes at a crucial time for Tanzania’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. While small and medium enterprises (SMEs) employ an estimated 5.7 million people and contribute about 27 percent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP), many promising businesses continue to struggle to access the financing required to scale their operations and deepen their impact.
According to the forum organisers, TIIF 2026 seeks to address this challenge by creating a structured platform where investors can identify bankable opportunities while entrepreneurs gain access to capital, partnerships and technical expertise. The event will also facilitate dialogue on how public policy, development finance and private investment can work together to accelerate inclusive economic growth.
“The forum builds on the momentum of the inaugural TIIF held in 2025, which attracted 181 participants, including 61 investors, 64 startups, government officials and ecosystem stakeholders,” the organizers said in a presser.
“Feedback from that event indicated strong interest in expanding impact investment activities in Tanzania, with a significant majority of investors expressing greater confidence in the country’s opportunities,’ further noted in the statement.

This year’s edition will place particular emphasis on financing high-impact SMEs, mobilising growth capital for scaling enterprises, promoting climate-smart businesses and leveraging digital solutions to strengthen market systems. Organisers believe these areas are critical for enhancing productivity, creating jobs and supporting sustainable development.
The forum is also expected to showcase Tanzania’s growing pipeline of investment-ready enterprises operating in sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, renewable energy, education and technology. By connecting these businesses with local and international investors, TIIF 2026 aims to help close the financing gap that continues to constrain enterprise growth and innovation.
Beyond investment deals, the event is designed to foster collaboration among government, development partners and the private sector. Discussions will explore ways to strengthen the impact investment ecosystem, improve investment readiness among SMEs and deploy blended finance mechanisms capable of attracting larger volumes of private capital into transformational projects.
As Tanzania pursues ambitious economic transformation and sustainable development goals, stakeholders will be looking to TIIF 2026 not only as a networking platform, but as a catalyst for turning promising enterprises into scalable businesses capable of delivering lasting social, environmental and economic impact.
