The Permanent Secretary in the Vice President’s Office, Richard Muyungi, has directed the contractor, SUMA JKT, to speed up the construction of the office building currently underway at the Government City in Mtumba, Dodoma.
Dr. Muyungi issued the directive on March 9, 2026 during an inspection visit to assess the progress of the project, accompanied by senior officials and members of the office’s management team.
He said the contractor must work around the clock to complete remaining improvements and repairs within the building, stressing that the Vice President’s Office would not grant any further extension to the project timeline after having done so previously. Dr. Muyungi also noted that all necessary requirements for completing the project, including payments to the contractor and procurement of furniture, had already been fulfilled. He further called for the installation of modern systems for solid waste processing and management within the building to promote environmental protection once the facility becomes operational.
