Illicit alcohol is costing Tanzania’s economy an estimated TSh 1.026 trillion each year, according to a recent study whose official release – captured in this pictorial – was officiated by the Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, Dennis Londo. The research, conducted by Euromonitor International on behalf of the Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI), in collaboration with Serengeti Breweries Limited (SBL), further reveals that illicit products account for 61 percent of all alcohol consumed in the country.
