The Ministry of Energy and its affiliated institutions are participating in the International Agriculture Exhibition – Nanenane – which commenced on 1st August at the Nzuguni Grounds in Dodoma.
This year’s exhibition is held under the theme: “Choose good leaders for sustainable development in agriculture, livestock and fisheries 2025.”
Opened officially by the Vice President, Dr. Philip Mpango, the exhibition sees experts from the Ministry not only showcasing the achievements made in the energy sector – including the completion of the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project and the expansion of rural electrification – but also providing education on clean cooking energy.
Members of the public are being informed about various plans the Ministry intends to implement in the 2025/2026 financial year, including further rural electrification and the rollout of the National Strategy for Clean Cooking Energy.
The Ministry’s institutions participating in the exhibition include: Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO), Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority (PURA), Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA), Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC), Rural Energy Agency (REA), Petroleum Bulk Procurement Agency (PBPA) and Tanzania Geothermal Development Company (TGDC)
The Ministry of Energy continues to encourage members of the public to visit its pavilion at the Nanenane Farmers’ Exhibition currently ongoing at the Nzuguni Grounds in Dodoma.
Fredrick Marwa, a geologist from the Ministry of Energy, noted that the Ministry is using the platform to educate the public on various ongoing initiatives, including oil and gas exploration and drilling activities across the country, particularly in the Eyasi Wembere Basin. Mr Marwa further stated that visitors to the Ministry’s pavilion will be able to witness the various milestones and achievements attained by the Ministry and its agencies.
