Tanzania has stepped up diplomatic engagement with Gulf states in a bid to strengthen cooperation on environmental conservation and sustainable management.
To this end, Hamad Yussuf Masauni, Minister of State in the Vice-President’s Office (Union and Environment), held separate talks in Dar es Salaam with a number of ambassadors.
Discussions centred on expanding bilateral cooperation in environmental conservation, climate resilience, and sustainable natural resource management.
The engagements reflect Tanzania’s broader push to leverage international partnerships in addressing climate change and advancing green development initiatives.
In the meeting with the Qatari envoy, both sides explored potential areas of collaboration in environmental protection and sustainability programmes. Also present was Mr Fawaz Ibrahim Argof, interpreter to the Ambassador.The separate talks with the Saudi Ambassador similarly focused on strengthening collaboration in conservation and environmental management, underscoring growing Gulf interest in supporting Tanzania’s environmental agenda.
