The manufacturing sector is preparing for one of its biggest nights of the year as the 19th President’s Manufacturer of the Year Awards (PMAYA) returns on December 6, 2025.
The ceremony, hosted by the Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI), will take place at the newly opened Superdome in Masaki, Dar es Salaam – an iconic venue befitting an event that has become the industry’s most prestigious a.
Since its inception in 2005, PMAYA has grown into a defining platform for recognising companies that shape Tanzania’s industrial trajectory. The awards highlight manufacturers who demonstrate leadership in innovation, product quality, sustainability and operational excellence, while reinforcing the strategic role the sector plays in national development.
This year’s theme, “Green Elegance,” reflects a global and national shift toward sustainable production. It celebrates companies integrating eco-friendly technologies, circular economy principles and low-carbon solutions into their operations – a timely alignment with Tanzania’s commitments under Vision 2050 and the country’s transition to a green industrial economy.
PMAYA 2025 will feature several key award categories, ranging from Manufacturer of the Year to Innovation in Manufacturing, Sustainability Practices, Best New Manufacturer, and Excellence in Customer Service. Participation remains open to all local manufacturers and service providers, ensuring wide representation across sectors – from agro-processing and fast-moving consumer goods to pharmaceuticals, construction materials and emerging green technologies.
Beyond recognition, the awards serve a broader economic purpose. By spotlighting excellence, PMAYA incentivises companies to adopt world-class processes, invest in new technologies and raise competitiveness. The event also provides a networking platform that connects business leaders, policymakers, investors and innovators, strengthening the collaborative fabric of Tanzania’s industrial ecosystem.

At a time when the country is intensifying efforts to boost value addition, expand exports, and attract industrial investment, PMAYA stands as a vital reminder of how far the sector has come – and how much potential remains untapped.
The 2025 edition is expected to reaffirm that Tanzania’s manufacturing growth is being driven not only by scale, but also by ingenuity, resilience and a deepening commitment to sustainability. As industry leaders gather at the Superdome on December 6, they will be celebrating more than individual achievements. They will be marking another milestone in Tanzania’s journey toward becoming a competitive, green, and innovation-led manufacturing economy – one award at a time.
