President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, participated in the African Union Heads of State and Government Summit, convened under the 2026 theme: “Ensuring Sustainable Access to Water and Safe Sanitation Services to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063.”
The theme calls for collective continental action to safeguard water resources, promote public health, and advance sustainable development across Africa. On the margins of the summit held on February 14, 2026 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, President Samia also held bilateral talks with the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, His Excellency Dr. Abiy Ahmed. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Tanzania and Ethiopia and reinforcing regional collaboration within the framework of the African Union.
